Jim Corbett National Park can be called the paradise of Tigers as it holds a large population of tigers in its breathtaking landscapes that consist of different varieties of flora and fauna. Named after the legendary tiger hunter turned naturalist Jim Corbett (1875-1955), it was the first national park of India, established in 1936 in the hill state of Uttarakhand.
In the national park, you will be left stunned by the wide range of biodiversity and get a chance to view over 586 varied species of migratory and resident birds, including blossom-headed parakeet, the crested serpent eagle, the red jungle fowl etc.
The sight of Royal Bengal tigers among the dense forests will humble and excite you at the same time. Other wild animals in the national park include varied species of Elephants, Leopards, Indian Python, Crocodiles, jungle cats, barking deer, sambar deer, sloth bear, Himalayan black bears, Indian grey mongoose etc.
