BHUTAN Bhutan “the land of thunderbolt” is yet one of the least heard & traveled. Bhutan is a small country established in the southern foothills of the Himalaya. The serene nature, Dzongs (Punakha Dzong, Paro Dzong, etc.), monasteries (Taktsang Monastery, Kyichu Lhakhang monastery etc), and other Buddhist relics scattered throughout the country are worth appreciating. So many trekking routes including the famous Druk path trek which takes you between the forests of fir, blue pine, and rhododendrons at altitudes ranging between 2400-4200 m and Chele la trek which passes through the high mountain pass to Paro with amazing views of snow-capped mountains and breathtaking views of valleys beneath at an altitude of 4350m.

Bhutan is a heavenly destination for bird lovers and ornithologists. Over 670 species of birds have been recorded till date and countless are yet to be discovered. Nearby 50 species of the known birds are winter migrants. These include ducks, waders, birds of prey, thrushes, finches and buntings.

The rivers, appearing through the valleys from the Himalaya, and enchant with their beauty. The way from Thimphu to Punakha offers a kaleidoscope of scenic beauties of the highest mountain of Bhutan, at a sight that stretches almost 180 degrees.

Arrival At Hasimara And Proceed To Phuentsholing

Pick up from Hasimara and we will proceed to Phuentsholing for your permission procedure. Check-in at hotel and take rest. Overnight stay at Phuentsholing.

Phuentsholing To Thimphu

It’s about 06 hrs drive to Thimphu from Phuentsholing. Checkin at the hotel and take rest. In the evening roam around the city of your own. Overnight stay at Thimphu.

Thimphu Sightseeing

The whole day Thimpu sightseeing will include memorial Chorten, Buddha Dordenma statue, Takin zoo, general post office, national institute for ZORIG Chusum, the folk heritage museum, Bhutanese Paper Factory. Overnight stay at Thimpu.

Thimpu to Punakha

After breakfast, you will be driven to Punakha. On the way, you will enjoy Dochula pass (3050mts) which is 45 mins drive from Thimphu. Chimi Lakhang Temple, also known as the temple of fertility and Punakha Dzong, the most important and the most beautiful dzong in the kingdom, are the main attractions in this day. Overnight stay in Punakha.

Punakha to Paro

You will be taken back to Paro valley following through Wang Chhu and Pa Chhu Rivers. Paro cultural tour should always start with a casual browse through the: National Museum, Paro Dzong – take in the amazing architecture of this 17th-century monument, Dungtshe Lakhang Jangtsa Dumgtseg Lakhang (Zlum Brtshegs Lha Khang) is a Buddhist temple in western Bhutan. In the evening explore the beautiful town of Paro which stands with its traditional Bhutanese architecture. Overnight stay at Paro.

Paro sightseeing

Today’s sightseeing destinations are Taktsang (tiger’s nest monastery), Kyichu Lhakhang – the 7th-century monastery is one of the oldest and most sacred temple in the kingdom, Drukgyel Dzong: a ruined fortress where Bhutanese warriors fought Tibetan invaders centuries ago. Overnight stay at Paro

Departure from Paro

Today you will proceed to Hasimara for your onward journey.
